Cleo Crunelle
Biografie
Cleo Crunelle is professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and University Hospital Brussels (UZ Brussel, dpt. of Psychiatry) with specific expertise in addiction, ADHD, and neuroimaging. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Free University of Brussels (Belgium) and completed her PhD (Medical Sciences) at the University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands) on the development of new neurobiological strategies to treat patients with cocaine dependence. She is engaged in several clinical projects, with a specific focus on the treatment of alcohol and substance use dependence and adult ADHD. In 2018, she obtained a second PhD (Pharmaceutical Sciences) with a focus on alcohol biomarkers.
Prof. Crunelle is a board member of several organizations including the International Collaboration on ADHD and Substance Use Disorders (ICASA), the Flemisch Psychiatry Association (Vlaamse Vereniging Psychiatrie, VVP) and the Belgian College of Neuropsychopharmacology and Biological Psychiatry (BCNBP). She is the co-founder and editor of the new Dutch peer-review journal ‘Tijdschrift verslaving & herstel’, started in 2020 and is an appointed expert of the Superior Health Counsil.
