Elien Heleven

Dr. Helevens research involves the minimal conditions for mentalizing. She wants to investigate how the mentalizing system has developed a goal-inference capacity, independently from the mirror system. She does this by exploring the minimal conditions for mentalizing while observing goal-directed actions performed by objects. She is focusing on the temporo-parietal junction as the major brain area that is involved in this process.
